Our passive solar greenhouse was used in the 2007 season to grow 'Big Beef' and 'Jetstar' variety tomatoes. We plant these greenhouse tomatoes earlier than in the field. This way, in a controlled greenhouse environment we are able to harvest tomatoes earlier and later in the season and for three months Blue Heron employees eat nothing but tomato sandwiches for lunch.
